Lunar Eclipses and Lunacy?

Jennifer was over and I was asking her if she was able to see the Lunar Eclipse that just happened on February 21st.  She did NOT so we were talking about it and just exactly what it is...

Danny happened to be sitting in the room with us so we started talking about the Solar Eclipse also.  Jennifer didn't really know what this was and after it was explained, she said "Wouldn't it be neat if this happened during the day so we could all see it??"

Well, I wasn't sure what to say and looked at Danny with a big grin when he said THIS: 

"Umm, well I wouldn't be talking too much BLONDIE!  Why don't we get tickets outside the stadium to watch it?"

Well, I still thought it was funny!

Wild Weekend Without Kids

This next weekend we have NO Kids!!!

NO KIDS I TELL YOU!  Now, don't get me wrong.  We love our kids, really we do.  OUr children are indeed gifts from God and we are truly blessed in that respect.  A weekend without kids is like a weekend without... how about you finish that sentence for me in your own words??

Here are some things we have thought about doing so far:

1. Eat bag of Oreos with milk in its entirety for a meal
2. Run around naked
3. Slide down the bannisters (this would NOT be while doing #2)
4. Drink straight from the orange juice and/or milk jug
5. Sleep until NOON
6. Watch movie that does not include animation or super heroes
7. Go to the bathroom without the peace of mind knowing that NOBODY is going to come pounding on the door

Okay, so what did I leave out?

Customer Service only goes so far!

I won't disclose where Tricia, my sister, works BUT she is on the receiving end of customer service issues and she came across this from an airline passenger:

“We missed a party for my birthday and the superbowel!” (ok, we won’t even go near that one)

Email Etiquette Rule #1

Note to self (and sister):

NEVER EVER EVER "copy" somebody on an email that has gone back and forth for quite some time without going back and reviewing all of said email.

Kroger's

I used Krogers.com and I have to brag.  I am sharing this information because I am a busy busy Mom and I'm hoping this can help others with time and money. 

I recently moved into an area where the closest grocery store is Kroger's.  Yes, I had to relearn where everything in the store is placed in this new arena of groceries to search for but what I also learned is that the online website is very helpful.

Okay, first of all I am not a big coupon clipper.  At Krogers.com, you can "clip" online coupons (over 9 pages of coupons) and then print them all at once so you aren't wasting paper.  I clipped over $8.00!  I feel like such a savvy shopper!  I'm not going to go on Oprah and say I spent $4.00 on a $200.00 grocery bill, but every little bit helps and this was a good tool for this busy Mom.

Did you know Krogers.com is an FTD Florist?  Neither did I!  I looked at TONS of FTD Florist designed gifts, fruit baskets, floral arrangements.  You can even order Eli's cheesecake and Harry & David gift-baskets.  Who would have thunk it?

I am by nature, a red wine girl.  Beyond Cabernets and Merlots I get a little lost sometimes.  At Krogers.com, there is a section that helps with wine pairing and you can even get expert advice from a wine steward! 

You can also sign in to see weekly specials, check your fuel rewards and organize your shopping list.

There is online an online photo center also.  There you can share and store pictures online for free or upload and print them for a small fee.  You can even create personalized items with your photos.  Have fun with that one!

There are recipes galore.  I tried the Red-and-Ready Spaghetti and it was easy and yummy.  Not that I don't have lots of time and I'm not the perfect little cook. (cough, cough)  There is even an article by Kroger's Corporate Dietitian about diet and realistic expectations.  Isn't everyone still honoring those new year's resolutions?

Well, enough from me.  If this information saves anyone time or money, I've done my job.

I think someone came in the middle of the night and stole my romanticism.  Could that be true?  I'm usually SUCH a 'girl'!! (Still not sure if this is a good or a bad thing.)

My Valentine's was GREAT! Thanks for asking.  I got some beautiful flowers delivered to me at work and Danny and I went out with another couple to an amazing restaurant.  It was our first Valentine's together as a married couple and it was very special.

Some friends of ours, Jeff and Tara, had an even better one!  They got ENGAGED on the Tyra Banks Show.  IT was a complete and total surprise for Tara.  She had NO idea.  Top THAT one!  Here they are:

I got all the kids Valentines.  For as far back as I can remember, my Dad always had a 'Valentine' for me so I have continued the tradition by always having one for my children.  This year, I had two additional Valentines in my life, Jennifer and Jonathon. 

Among Jonathon's things were some caramel candies. We didn't see Jonathon until after school, so Danny gave it to him when he picked him up to bring him to our house.  From the backseat he said, "Uhh, Dad?" and showed Danny his chocolate candy.

Danny thought there was a little prize like a pearl or something in the candy. (Why he thought this I don't know.)  It turns out the caramel pulled out Jonathon's loose tooth!

So, Happy Valentine's Day, one tooth less Jonathon. Was the tooth fairy supposed to work on Valentine's Day?

And of COURSE, Holly had her Valentine's topknot bow! Did you really have to ask that?
