I went out of town a few weekends ago and had to leave the puppies at a boarding/kennel place.
Well, they didn't have the "bordatella" shot but the kennel assured me that they could get one when they got there and it would be okay.
Turns out this is NOT okay. A few days after I got home the dogs starting coughing and continued to get worse. Sure enough, they were exposed to bordatella or what some call kennel cough before the vaccine was even effective. GRRRR...!!
Anyway, dogs are getting better but I have a question. I was so worried about the silly dogs that when they were coughing (it sounded AWFUL) I would do anything to get them to calm down and stop coughing. So now, even though they don't really need to cough -- if I am near them in room they still have somewhat of a hacking cough routine. I've noticed it doesn't occur when they are alone.... This could NOT be faked, could it?
Are my dogs really that smart?
The little devils angels. (cough, cough)
Dogs are sneaky. That supercedes smart.

Phil, Do you think they can teach my sons a thing or 2?

Tawcan, Yes -- just look at them!

That is awful! I'd totally blame the kennels for that.
They may just be breathing/panting harder in excitement whenever someone else is present, thus aggravating their condition.
Hope they recover quickly.
