Shane, being the resourceful 14 year old that he is, has been known to come home from school and make himself a little snack of sorts.
Today, it was macaroni and cheese. Being the wonderfully domesticated gourmet Mom that I am, I buy the Kraft or Velveeta in the box that just needs the noodles boiled, drained and cheese squeezed onto it to melt. Yeah, that's what I do -- so hush.
Anyway,...the following is our dialogue:
Me: Shane? What kind of cereal is that?
Shane: Oh, this isn't cereal. It's macaroni and cheese.
Me: Well, where did you get it?
Shane: I made it myself! (big grin)
Me: Uh huh... Well, WHY does it look like soup?
Shane: I think the instructions were wrong. I added the right amount of water but it was just too much.
Me: .....
Shane: (big grin while eating mac 'n cheese soup)
Me: Shane? You drained the noodles after you boiled them. Correct?
Shane: Umm, I think I missed that part...
Me: .....
How does the boy make it through the day at school?
And next time, here on Bunny Burrow, Shane will be demonstrating how to make Spaghetti and tomato sauce soup or perhaps Beef Stroganoff stew. There are probably lots more soup recipes out there I didn't know about! ;)
