And here we have Shane getting into the festive Halloween spirit...

Actually the dialogue went something like this:

Shane: Mom, can I invite (insert generic friend name) to go to the carnival with us?
Mom: Hmm...let me think on that one
Shane: Aww, come on!
Mom: Ok, well put these flashing Halloween pumpkins on your head and let me take a pic
Shane: ..
Mom: Oh, come on! Who is going to see it anyway?
Shane: Ok! :)

The progress bribery gets me with my 13 year old!
Sadly, the friend he really wanted to invite had other plans... Oh well he really is a cutie with those pumpkins -- huh?

Well, since I posted my scary things list...I thought I'd see how scary I was. Turns out, I'm not scary at all! (Let's leave out the part about me being scared -- it'll be our little secret. ;) K?)

Munchy alert

Ok, I'm usually not a bigtime recipe posting kind of gal and I'm not even sure this qualifies BUT...

I went to a kiddy birthday party today and if you like those Payday candybars (if you don't there is something wrong with you by the way) well then THIS, my friends, is for you...

Get a big bowl of salted (shelled) peanuts and throw in a bag of candycorn and tada! There ya go!

Who likes to eat candy corn all by itself anyway? Yuck! Who knew it would be this good? And if you did, then WHY didn't you tell me?

This is truly an amazing discovery! It's also very colorful and festive!

This is so annoying! I woke up with this 'disorder' and even when I think it's gone I realize I am humming it! So, I am wishing right about now that -- indeed -- someone would just come and truly steal my sunshine!

Well, Happy Friday anyway everyone!

OH MY GOSH

The other night we were sound asleep when all of a sudden Scott shoots straight up out of bed and screams "OH MY GOSH!!!!"

I am so shocked that my heart skipped a beat. I just knew I was going to wake up to a dead body in the room or worse...

Me: WHAT is wrong??
Scott: Oh nothing..
Me: Excuse me?
Scott: Well my arm was asleep.
Me: And..
Scott: I mean it was reallly asleep!
Me: ...
Scott: It was to the point that I thought it was going to have to be amputated or something.
Me: ...
Scott: It's ok now, let's go back to sleep.
Me: ...
Scott: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

An hour later:
Scott: ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZz
Me: (wide-eyed and heart racing)

So I am still so shaken up at that point that I can't go to sleep for several hours while Scott is over there sawing logs! Even after I realized there was no real emergency I could tell my eyes were still as huge as saucers and my heart was pounding fast. I mean WHO has ever heard of an amputee that got that way because their arm fell asleep during the night? Call me crazy...

After careful consideration...

I decided to try to take my "pumpkin patch" pictures on a day when there is not such a sunglare. Because, yes, my children really do possess eyeballs.

My sister came over and asked for what occassion did I get such an elaborate fall basket of flowers. Scott replied that sometimes its best when there is just no reason at all.
