Ok, someone please help me out here.
I can't stand it anymore! I buy all my food in excesses and then 'save' it until it ruins. WHAT is up with that? I have always done this and I don't understand why.
For instance, I had a shower at my house this weekend and there were some strawberries left over. I made a salad the next day and sliced some up and put them in the salad but not 'too many' because I was saving them. The day after that, nothing sounded better than some fresh strawberries with my breakfast but alas, I couldn't -- yes, needed to 'save' them for something. What, I don't know. Now the strawberries are about to go bad and I could have been enjoying them all this time but I refused.
Scott: What is this growing in the refrigerator?
Me: Don't touch that, I'm saving it.
Scott: Well, it's a little late for that unless it's a science experiment.
Me: Oh, well it's not that I forgot about it but I was saving it.
Scott: What were you saving it for?
Me: I don't know, but I was SAVING it. OK?
That is the way I am. :(
Don't even take me to Sam's or Costco's or somewhere that you can buy things in large quantities. I am very much attracted to buying in bulk and letting things rot away while there are starving children everywhere. Don't even ask me about all that crystallized stuff in my freezer that's been there for ages 'just in case'. Shouldn't I feel bad about this? WHAT is my problem??
Some of you wannabe Freudians might say maybe I had to do without as a child or maybe I went hungry? NEVER! I always had food, but I still hoard.
I went to clean out my nightstand drawer and instead of the usual chapstick and nailfile, guess what was in there? Yep!!! Snacks! I had trailmix and gourmet chocolates, etc.
When I left my job, I cleaned out my desk and found all kinds of FOOD hoarded in my desk. Because, afterall, ya never know....
Never know what, you ask? I don't know either!
UPDATE: I actually ate some strawberries today! Woohoo!!
