I just got back from the PTA Spring Conference for our area. I turned in the scrapbook that I have been working on and I got HIGHEST HONORS!
I am sure there was no doubt in your mind, right?!
Well, at the conference I had several workshop choices AND I thought I really needed to utilize the Time Management session. Afterall, we all only have 24 hours in our day and who doesn't need help with better organizing your time wisely? Time is such a priceless commodity these days.
I went toward the room that the workshop was to be held in only to find that the classroom was locked and the teacher was in a frenzy. The class finally got unlocked and the room was in complete and total disarray. We finally get settled in and she passes out handouts that are absolutely HORRID. There are all sorts of misspellings and grammatical errors -- my pet peeve. Apparently the time management workshop speaker had not managed her time wisely enough to spell check or proof read her material, nor did she have time to arrive at the workshop early enough to assure adequate set up for the room.
She bragged about the fact that she still had stuff in her car from the LAST conference's hand outs, etc. Now, what was SHE doing teaching this class? I realized that being a perfectionist can sometimes set yourself up for failure in time management issues but come on! She gave us bits of information she got from Oprah magazine and read us "You know you don't have enough time when..." jokes she received in an email! And THAT, my friends, was pretty much her source of information for our workshop.
Well, I guess I learned from this conference that things could always be worse! And I thought I had time management/organization issues!
Congrats on the honor -- heaven knows you barely spent any time on the school's scrapbook! ;-)
