One-Line Bio

Maniacal Mom with a heart

Biography

In this endeavor of attempting an online journal, I have chosen Bunny Burrow for my title. So, welcome to my den. Before you begin, let me say that I have read some pretty awesome blogs and I probably pale in comparison. So keep in mind I don't think I'm a great writer, nor do I pretend to be. I am what I am and I have fun just the same. You might find I'm entertaining, funny, quirky, or sappy. If not, there's always War and Peace.

Once upon a time, a long, long time ago (okay, maybe not THAT long)...there was a girl who was spending time with her family. It was a special day and everyone was taking pictures. Fun, fun! The girl was with her beau at the time and everyone kept calling her Bunny. Well, turns out that in most if not all the pictures there were bunny ears being put behind her head. Real mature gathering there, huh?

Well that was me, Chana. It is pronounced Shawna....I know, I know ...my Mom didn't know her phonetics when she was spelling out my name but what can I say? She wouldn't listen to me at the time! So, all my LIFE I am being pronounced all sorts of weird names. Some people even add letters. Note: There is no D or R or combination thereof in my name, and you don't get points for creativity. Thank you! I just had to get that off of my chest! I was just informed by an older sister recently that my name in Hebrew translates to mean 'Grace'. Wow, life could have been aLOT easier for me! But, I guess I am just about as unique as my name so it's probably fitting.

The bad part after showing someone my drivers license and they go through a tra-la-la over my name, like they are the first to think it unusual -- is the comment on my birthdate. I have the distinct misprivilege (is that even a word?) to be born on 9/11. People shake their heads at me with that tsk, tsk attitude! Umm, what did I do to ask for that? Still, I always feel guilty. The entire country mourns on my birthday, me along with them for all the lives that were lost. My Father is a retired firefighter and one of my greatest heroes for his part in saving lives and being a great protector.

I bet you thought you were about to find out who old I am? NO WAY. My parents taught me that you are to never ask a lady how much money she has, how much she weighs, or how old she is. And, guess what? I am a lady!

I have been collecting bunny things for ages and at one time I even bred Holland lop bunnies.

I believe that in this life Blondes DO have more fun. Yes, that's my blonde roots showing. I have 2 absolutely brilliant and beautiful children both boys. And, YES, I am being very objective. If you don't believe me, just ask me. Note: See my very first post.

If asked to label myself as a dog-person or a cat-person, I refuse. I have both and I love them both dearly just the same.

I believe in the old cliche "blood is thicker than water" and that you should ALWAYS put your family's best interest first in life. Yes, as you can probably already tell my actions come from the heart and not always out of logic.

I guess if asked, who I would invite to my fantasy dinner party (excluding religious icons) I would have to say Princess Dianna, Marilyn Monroe, and my 2 Grandfathers (one of which I never met). I believe that some, if not all of these people, were misunderstood and I would love to just sit and listen to them. Wouldn't you?

Hopefully, more info to follow later....
